Lately, I keep seeing messages on the internet saying, "You can have it all, mama!" And I’ve been sitting with that thought.

Can we?

I don’t know. Maybe.

But first, we have to define what having it all even means.

Because here’s what I do know — no one is *doing* it all (not without help, without sacrifices, or without something giving).

If someone looks like they’re effortlessly balancing career, motherhood, a clean house, an active social life, and perfect hair — there’s a missing piece to the story.

They either have support (a nanny, housekeeper, meal service, family help… all of the above!), or they’re making trade-offs that aren’t always visible (i.e. their mental health?).

And let me tell you, I gladly outsource.

Let me de-influence myself!

As small business owner/entrepreneur, I wear many hats. I work from home. I have a flexible schedule, because I work for myself. And I get paid pretty darn well for work that’s not that hard — I’m not afraid to admit that. 😄

That doesn’t mean I don’t work hard. And it definitely doesn’t mean just anyone can do what I do and be successful at it. I started my online career a decade ago, and I made many sacrifices before becoming a mother to get to where I am now.

But I also know I’m not a nurse on her feet all day or someone dealing with long commutes and office politics. Some jobs are just harder in different ways, and that’s reality.
